Description
Introducing the Palm Collection from the Chakhesang Women’s Welfare Society. This collection features beautifully handcrafted textiles that are the pride of the Chakhesang Women’s Welfare Society, an esteemed organization established in 1976. Dedicated to empowering local women in the villages of Phek District, Nagaland, Northeast India, this society is a beacon of community development and sustainable practices.
The Chakhesang Women’s Welfare Society supports over 3,000 small villages, primarily inhabited by the Chakhesang tribe, through various projects in farming, weaving, tailoring, and micro-financing. They also champion initiatives in community health and education. Recently, they’ve launched a tailoring course with professional designers, nurturing a new generation of young designers from their villages.
Each piece in the Palm Collection reflects the rich cultural heritage and exceptional craftsmanship of the Chakhesang women. By incorporating these beautiful textiles into your home, you support sustainable and ethical production practices, adding both beauty and meaning to your decor.
