Through School to Farm and Farm to School programs, learners experience both immersive farm-based activities and in-school workshops tailored to their communities. This dual approach bridges traditional education with hands-on practice, ensuring that knowledge is lived, not just learned.

At Heenat Salma Farm, education is not only about preparing for the future—it’s about living responsibly today, in harmony with nature and one another.

Our Education

At Heenat Salma Farm, education is rooted in nature-based learning and permaculture principles. We believe that children learn best when they engage with the world through their eyes, mind, heart, and hands—observing, thinking, feeling, and doing.

Our curriculum is carefully designed to connect learners with nature while preparing them to live sustainably in a changing world. Through immersive experiences, children develop curiosity, creativity, and compassion, as well as a cooperative spirit that strengthens their relationship with each other and with the environment.

  • Eyes (Observe & Interact): Sharpening perception and awareness of natural systems.

  • Heart (Emotional Intelligence): Nurturing empathy, resilience, and compassion.

  • Mind (Intellect): Building knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

  • Hands (Learn by Doing): Developing practical skills through gardening, crafts, cooking, and farming.

Our age-specific curriculum ensures that learning outcomes are meaningful at every stage:

  1. Biodiversity & Permaculture Ethics – Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share, the Web of Life, and interconnectedness.

  2. Living Nature – Exploring soil, water, air, plants, trees, animals, insects, and ecosystems.

  3. Growing Food – From planting and harvesting to cooking and sharing meals.

  4. Environment & Resource Use – Using resources wisely, reducing waste, and practicing reuse, repair, and recycling.

  5. Humans & Communities – Building cooperation, emotional well-being, cultural appreciation, and social responsibility.

  • Pre-School (4–6 years): First encounters with soil, plants, animals, and family life in nature—learning through play, exploration, and care.

  • Primary (7–12 years): Engaging with ecosystems, biodiversity, and food growing while learning teamwork, responsibility, and sustainable habits.

  • Secondary (13–15 years): Deepening awareness of soil, water, climate, and sustainable systems alongside creative expression and critical observation.

  • High School (15–17 years): Exploring regenerative agriculture, social entrepreneurship, and the global challenges of climate change and resource use.

Academic Pathways

At Caravane Earth Academy, learning flows in two directions: from the classroom to the farm, and from the farm back to the classroom.

School to Farm

Students step into nature’s living classroom, exploring lessons in the soil, the garden, the kitchen, and under the open sky.Our School to Farm program turns Heenat Salma Farm into a living classroom. Students participate in interactive farm tours, gardening, animal care, creative workshops, and wellness activities, connecting with nature’s cycles while building practical skills and lasting memories.

Farm to School

The farm comes to students, transforming classrooms into spaces for creativity, sustainability, and hands-on discovery. With Farm to School, the farm comes to the classroom. Through hands-on workshops in art, wellness, and sustainability, students engage with natural materials, practice ecological methods, and create nature-inspired crafts. Sessions are customized for each school, ensuring learning is interactive, engaging, and rooted in nature.

Both pathways ensure that education is lived, felt, and practiced. Whether examining biodiversity in the fields or creating nature-inspired crafts in the classroom, students gain skills and values that nurture curiosity, responsibility, and harmony with the natural world.
