Job Purpose

The purpose of hiring a Plant Nursery Manager for Heenat Salma Farm is to oversee and manage all aspects of the plant nursery operations to ensure the efficient and successful cultivation of plants. The Plant Nursery Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining the health and quality of plants, supporting the overall goals and objectives of Heenat Salma Farm.

Responsibilities

  • Plant Care: Ensuring all plants are healthy and well-maintained. This includes watering, fertilizing, pruning, and pest control.
  • Inventory Management: Keeping track of the plants and supplies in the nursery. This might involve ordering new stock, organizing displays, and managing stock levels.
  • Staff Supervision: Hiring, training, and managing nursery staff. This includes scheduling, task delegation, and performance evaluation.
  • Customer Service: Assisting customers with their queries and purchases. Providing advice on plant care and landscaping.
  • Financial Management: Overseeing the financial aspects of the nursery, such as budgeting, pricing, and sales tracking.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Developing strategies to attract more customers, which could include advertising, organizing events, or social media marketing.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensuring the nursery complies with all relevant laws and regulations. This includes maintaining a safe environment for staff and customers.
  • Knowledge Upkeep: Staying informed about new plant varieties, gardening trends, and best practices in nursery management.

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in plant science, agriculture, or a closely related field
  • Understanding plant biology, cultivation techniques, and pest management.

Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of organic agriculture and regenerative agricultural practices with focus on dryland agricultural production.
  • Must have market knowledge to clarify and analyze the revenue.
