Season 1 · AY 2025–2026
Nine Doha schools took on their own growing plots at Heenat Salma Farm, working through a full season of soil prep, planting, composting, and harvest — in collaboration with Dukhan Bank.
The programme launched in November 2025 and closed its inaugural year in May 2026 — a foundation Season 2 will build directly on.

How it runs
The programme follows the growing calendar aligned to Qatar's agricultural season — each phase building on the last, from preparation through to harvest and reflection.
Soil prep, weeding, plot allocation, coordinator training.
Seeding winter crops, compost, irrigation, cultivation begins.
Crop cultivation, composting, first harvests, early summer planting.
Post-harvest cleaning, summer harvest, Young Farmer Market, Community Days.
Final competition and exhibition, reflection, closing sessions.

Who's behind it

The programme is free of charge. In exchange, we ask for a steady, committed group rather than a rotating one — the same students and teachers across the season, so the plot has continuity.
On the group: this programme runs as a season-long commitment, not a rotating field trip. We ask schools to select their participating students and teachers up front and keep that group consistent from planting through to harvest — it's what makes the ownership and progress students build on their plot possible.
Season 2 · 2026–27
Season 2 carries forward everything Season 1 built — a full growing season.
Each school holds 80–100 m² at Heenat Salma Farm for the full growing year, returning to the same soil and seeds.
Biweekly or monthly farm visits, led by green educators alongside your own teachers.
Sessions run in English and Arabic, welcoming both private and public schools.
Students get the chance to share their produce with the community.
