A Platform for Original Sound and Creativity

Heenat Salma is opening its doors to artists, performers, storytellers, cultural practitioners and knowledge sharers to become part of our upcoming programme across Doha and at Heenat Salma Farm. 

We are creating space for diverse forms of expression, bringing together music, theatre, storytelling, puppetry, cultural traditions, talks, knowledge sharing and other live experiences that connect people through creativity, culture and community. 

Whether you are an emerging artist, an established performer, a storyteller, a cultural practitioner or someone with knowledge to share, we invite you to bring your work to our spaces.

THE PROGRAMME

A platform for creative expression, cultural exchange and meaningful connections between people, place and knowledge. 

The programme will feature a series of intimate cultural and creative experiences presented across different settings in Doha and at Heenat Salma Farm. 

These may include: 

  • Live music and acoustic performances 
  • Theatre and intimate stage performances 
  • Puppet and object theatre 
  • Storytelling and spoken-word performances 
  • Cultural talks and conversations 
  • Knowledge-sharing sessions and lectures 
  • Traditional arts and cultural demonstrations 
  • Creative performances and interdisciplinary works 
  • Seasonal, community and special programmes 

Each setting offers an opportunity to experience creative expression in a different way, from selected locations in Doha to the natural surroundings of Heenat Salma Farm.  

We welcome applications from: 

  • Musicians and performers 
  • Theatre practitioners and performing artists

We welcome proposals rooted in different cultural traditions, contemporary practices and forms of creative expression. 

 

We are looking for meaningful, engaging and distinctive experiences that bring people together through creativity, culture and knowledge.

We are particularly interested in proposals that create an intimate connection between people, place, culture and knowledge.

PARTICIPATION & OPPORTUNITIES

A simple overview of how submissions are reviewed and what selected artists and practitioners can expect from being part of Heenat Salma’s programme. 

All submissions will be reviewed by the Heenat Salma team. 

Selection will consider: 

  • Quality and originality of the proposal 
  • Artistic or cultural value 
  • Relevance to Heenat Salma’s programme and ethos 
  • Suitability for the proposed setting and audience 
  • Ability to engage and connect with the community 
  • Diversity of creative and cultural expressions 
  • Feasibility of the proposed format 
  • Availability for selected programme dates 

Shortlisted applicants may be contacted for additional information, samples of previous work or further discussion. 

Submission does not guarantee selection. Selected artists and practitioners will receive further details regarding the proposed location, date, timing, format and arrangements.  

elected participants receive a platform to share their work, practice or knowledge with a live audience through Heenat Salma’s cultural and community programme. 

Depending on the format, this may include: 

  • A designated space for the experience 
  • Promotion through Heenat Salma’s communication channels 
  • Event coordination and on-site support 
  • Opportunities to connect with new audiences and communities 

Specific arrangements will vary according to the nature of the programme and will be communicated to selected participants.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Original Work All performances must consist solely of original compositions. Covers, remixes, or copyrighted material owned by third parties are not permitted. 
  2. Selection& Programming Submission does not guarantee acceptance. Heenat Salma reserves full discretion over selection, scheduling, and programme structure.  
  3. Performance Duration Selected artists will be assigned a fixed time slot, which must be respected to ensure smooth programme flow. 
  4. Content Standards Performances must beappropriate fora public, family-friendly environment. Content that is offensive, discriminatory, or disruptive will not be permitted.  
  5. Technical Setup Heenat Salma will provide basic sound support where possible. Artists are responsible for their own instruments and special technical requirements unless agreed in advance. 
  6. Recording & DocumentationHeenatSalma reserves the right to photograph, audio-record, or video-record performances for documentation and non-commercial promotional use, with credit given to the artist. 
  7. Compensation Unless explicitlystated, performances are unpaid and considered part of a community cultural programme.
  8. Cancellations Selected artists must inform Heenat Salma promptly if they are unable to perform. Repeated no-shows may affect future participation. 
  9. Acceptance of Terms Submission of an application constitutes full acceptance of these terms and conditions.
