Practices that carry stories, traditions, skills and cultural knowledge from one generation to another.
They are an invitation to slow down, sit together, and learn through the hands — to feel the grain of the wood, the softness of the fibre, the earth beneath the clay, and the story held within each material.
A space to share knowledge, make together, and leave with something made by your own hands.

Your practice may come from a long tradition, a personal journey, a material you have come to know closely, or an idea you are still exploring. It may be traditional, contemporary, experimental, or entirely your own. We welcome workshop ideas across the following — but this is only a beginning.

Practices that carry stories, traditions, skills and cultural knowledge from one generation to another.

Making with materials from the earth, and discovering the colours, textures and possibilities found in nature.

Creative practices that invite people to explore, experiment and make something of their own.

Giving materials another life, finding beauty in what already exists, and creating with care for what we have.

Hands-on experiences that bring children, families and communities together through making, learning and sharing.
And if your practice doesn't fit neatly into one of these categories, don't let that stop you.
Perhaps you work with a material we haven't mentioned.
Perhaps you carry a skill that is rarely taught.
Perhaps you have your own way of bringing people together through making.
We would still like to hear from you.

Your workshop meets visitors, families and school groups who arrive at the farm already wanting to learn with their hands — not an audience you have to find first.
Shaded majlis, open courtyards and the gardens themselves. Space, daylight and quiet — and materials growing a few steps from where you teach.
Seasonal celebrations, family days, educational programmes and cultural gatherings — a practice that fits can be invited back through the year.
Heenat Salma Farm — Al Shahaniya, Doha, Qatar
Not every craft needs to be the same. What matters is the care behind it — the materials, the knowledge, the story, and the way it brings people together.
Every submission is read and considered thoughtfully. We would like to understand your practice, your process, the materials you work with, and the experience you hope to share.
Selected practices become part of our growing pool of artisanal workshops at Heenat Salma — a collection of knowledge, skills and ways of making that we can draw from throughout the year.
When a workshop feels right for a particular programme, season or gathering, we may invite you to join us — a seasonal celebration, a family day, an educational programme, a cultural gathering, or a special moment at the farm.
We are drawn to practices that are gentle with materials, respectful of knowledge and heritage, connected to nature, and generous in the way they bring people together.
Because for us, a workshop is not simply something to attend. It is a moment to slow down, learn from one another, make with our hands, and share something meaningful.
If you have something to make,
something to teach,
or something worth passing on — we would love to hear from you.
A little about you, your craft and the workshop you would like to share at Heenat Salma.
A confirmation is on its way to your inbox. We take the time to look through every submission, and if your practice feels at home at Heenat Salma, we will be in touch about workshops, seasonal programmes, family days and gatherings throughout the year.
